Terrace Decoration -- Don't Forget the Fire pit and Tiki Torches
Outdoor terraces are usually wonderful party or relaxing spots in warm weather. You can decorate simply or with more flair, it just depends on your style. The ground is usually paved with flagstones but you can also cover it with concrete. Plants in pots placed around the edge make a nice garden area, and decorative lights can be hung. There is usually a wrought iron or other table and chairs outside, and any cushions should be water resistant or proof. Some people have a barbecue out on their terrace. If you do, make sure that the wind always blows the smoke away from your house. That's difficult with a built-in grill but if you have one that moves around, then shift it to one side and away from your guests. Elevated plants or statues look very nice when you have a couple on your terrace. Be sure that the general lighting is adequate, but not blaring. Solar lights stuck along the pathway are good for lighting the way.
