Library Furniture -- Where do you Put Your Shakespeare?
Often, libraries are combined with dens and there's plenty of room for decorating. Obviously, there needs to be a bookshelf or two in the library. You can have a desk also, and placing that in a lighted area will definitely help you see better. You should have a comfortable chair or sofa for reading, and great lighting so that you can see what you're doing. There might be space for a coffee table and also an ottoman, and storage should be available for anything you'd like to keep out of sight. Libraries can be done in a traditional style, which means lots of wood and usually dark colors. They can also be light and airy and more of a sunroom type of library with possibly cane furniture and white bookshelves. If you have a fireplace in your library you can also put a decorative screen in front of it. Lamps can be floor, wall mounted or desk. Using "curly" bulbs where you can will save on costs and also help the planet. And, every library needs at least one tiffany style stained-glass lamp.
